Short Stories

I imagine that humans have been telling stories since they could speak, and it doesn't matter if its a group of humans sitting around a camp fire at the dawn of our history or a person a thousand years from now with resources beyond anything any of us can ever imagine--stories aren't going to go away. They are part of all of us, part of our nature.

 

Below are my stories. Some I am extreamly proud of, and I can honestly say, go forth and read. I'd be surprised if you don't enjoy these. I started writing about the same time I could read, and before that  i would narate epic tales of dinosaurs on cruise ships to my stuffed animals--its in my blood...i'd imagine to some extent, its in all our blood. While arguably my craft has grown over the years, I find as I selected the following samples of my work, that some of my later works lacked some of the qualities of the earlier. Every age has its own tales, its own merits. The stories that I wrote eight years ago may be riddled with far more grammer problems, they may be soft on intrigants at points, they may at times be very telly, not showy; but hey, they are vibrant and imaginative! Regardless, I hope you enjoy my stories, new and old alike.

The Story of Ace

 

This, like the Story of Welose (directly below) comes from one of the campaigns I play in. This particular campaign I've been playing in for a little over a year...its very rough because I don't remember everything, and 30 pages and a year into the campaign, it got very hard to stay in character and remember what to relate...so it is rough...but i think its a fun little story...i think this one and the one below, the story of welose, have a sort of arabian night's feel to them, as far as the narative itself is concerned.

The Story of Welose "DeathFire" Whiterose

 

Basically, I've created a cronical of the campaign that Welose is a part of. Its a fun campaign setting. The cronical is a bit rough, because I don't remember everything, but I just wanted to share of the awesome funness that was this campaign.

End Scene for the Play the Adventures of Pretty Willy

 

Okay, for my drama creative writing class we had to work on this pretty awful play about this character named pretty willy who was this con artist, who wanted to buy peewee hokey teams, train them to become pros, and sell em or something...stealing them away from there families...i don't excactly remember all the plot...it was pretty wretched...and the whole class was pretty wretched. like a few weeks before the end of the semester the teacher sundly left us all...supposedly to go be with a friend dying from cancer, which i mean, is very understandable...but, she hadn't kept any records of our grades, or anything really, and the university gave us A's to shut us up, though some of us were still pissed cuz she taught us very little if anything, and it was an awful time...however, this, uhm, play and the twist i threw in here i may say was great...i had the whole class in hysterics when they read it, and i hope it'll do the same for you, if you choose to read it to.

 

In case anyone wants to read more of the Adventures of Pretty Willy, I have one of the random scenes i wrote included as well, right below it. Actually, this scene weren't to bad either. Who knows? Maybe the play had more going for it than i give it credit...though, then again...

Rifts: The Fall of Jadenhoff

 

This is fan-fiction, based in the paladium rifts megaverse, generated by several campaigns hosted by one of my favoirte gms, way back when i was in my early college years. as such, some of this comes out a bit rough, but i think this is not just rifts, but a rifts story generated by one of the finest collection of players and including some of the greatest tales ever told, in my humble opinion. yeah, its incomplete, but like many of my other stories, if there was sufficient interest, i could be pursuaded to go back and complete this .

Hopeville Project

 

Okay, this is way back from one of my early creative writing classes in one of my early college days...basically, we had this wonderful teacher, completly literally deaf, doubled as a comedian, definetly a character (which, btw, i consider  a good thing) and he had us work on a little project called hopeville. basically, everyone in the class created a character for a little hick town called hopeville and then we'd write scens and stories aobut the characters interactions. Yes, I'm afraid these are more snapshots, and not complete...i never got my mad scientist character to battle the invading demon hoard, but, despite that fact, they are still kind of entertaining, and years later, i can say i'm proud i worked on them.
